 oducers, and our abundant forage and grassland resources power Canada'
 s beef and dairy sector. However, reduced focus on forage research and
  development, coupled with increasing returns for annual crops and the
  resulting decrease in forage acreage has negatively impacted the indu
 stry. Transportation costs and logistical issues also have influenced 
 the ability of some provinces to export. Despite this, our dairy secto
 r continues to need high quality hay, straw and forage products and ou
 r rapidly expanding beef industry has similar requirements. As well, o
 ur Canadian exporters have managed to successfully negotiate protocols
  with key importing nations such as the US, UK and the Middle East and
  have consequently increased the potential for forage exports to new m
 arkets.\nOpportunities abound for commercial entrepreneurs and innovat
 ive companies positioned to take advantage of existing and new markets
  within this expanding and dynamic sector of the Canadian economy. Att
