SUMMARY:Guelph Centre for Urban Organic Farming Open House
DESCRIPTION:Attendees can participate in guided â€˜tasting toursâ€™ of
  the organic garden and can enjoy a corn roast, live music, educationa
 l demonstrations and childrenâ€™s activities such as scavenger hunts a
 nd corn husking competitions throughout the day.\n\nThis event will fe
 ature top Ontario chefs including: Jim Loat from Borealis Grille & Bar
 ; Shea Robinson and Anthony Walsh from Oliver & Bonacini Cafe Grille W
 aterloo, Sasha Saladziuk and Simon Day from PJâ€™s Restaurant in the A
 trium; and Hendrik Kuiper and Vijay Nair from Hospitality Services at 
 the University of Guelph. These chefs will be preparing mouth watering
  cuisine for guests to sample, using organic produce from the gardenâ€
 ™s seasonal bounty.\n\nAdmission to this event is FREE. A $10 Food Pas
 sport can be purchased at the door to sample our Chefâ€™s organic fare
 . (All proceeds go to the Guelph Centre for Urban Organic Farming and 
 Garden2Table; a real food program for children).\n\nThe Guelph Centre 
 for Urban Organic Farming is a 1 hectare learning facility established
  at the Arboretum of the University of Guelph to complement the academ
 ic B. Sc. (Agr) Major in Organic Agriculture. Its mandate is to offer 
 hands-on learning in organic market gardening, urban agriculture, reso
 urce conservation, and a suite of other life skills central to food se
 curity and safety in a resource- limited era.\n\nGarden2Table is a stu
 dent run project of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. 
 The program aims to provide children with enjoyable education about fo
 od, agriculture, and their natural environment - primarily to positive
