DESCRIPTION:The Ontario Forage Council is proud to announce our upcomi
 ng annual Profitable Pastures 2020. Â The conference will be held in M
 ount Forest, at the Mount Forest Community Centre, 850 Princess St, Mo
 unt Forest on Tuesday, March 10, 2020.Â  Additionally, remote location
 s will be added. Â Please watch our website for news on these remote l
 ocations.Â  Presentations are CEU accredited.\nThis yearâ€™s keynote s
 peaker is Bill Thomas, of BT Agronomy. During his 30 years of extensio
 n service in Nova Scotia, Bill implemented educational forage producti
 on programs at the former Nova Scotia Agricultural College, now part o
 f Dalhousie University. His work as a lecturer at Dalhousie continues 
 in the forage and soil management and livestock production courses. He
 's developed policies on nutrient management, beef development and agr
 icultural awareness. He is a member of the Nova Scotia Institute of Ag
 rology, Agrology Institute of Canada and the Canadian Society of Agron
 omy and has served on several forage and crop and research committees.
  In 2011, he was named a Fellow of the Canadian Society of Agronomy, t
 he societyâ€™s most distinguished award.Â  Bill was the recipient of t
 he 2019 Canadian Forage and Grassland Association's Leadership Award.Â
  \nIn addition to our keynote speaker, John Molenhuis, OMAFRA Business
  Analysis Cost Production Specialist, will kick off the day with How t
 o Determine your Cost of Production.Â  Attendees will be treated to a 
 panel with the firsthand knowledge from producers experienced in manag
 ing their cost of production. The 2019 Mapleseed Sheep Pasture Award r
 ecipients Carrie Woolley/Brett Schuyler will present an overview of th
 eir operation, and Christine Oâ€™Reilly, the OMAFRA Forage and Grazing
  Specialist, will round off the day with a presentation on Grass Utili
 zation.\nThe cost of this yearâ€™s conference is $50 and includes a ho
 t lunch.Â  Registration deadline is March 9th, 2020. Â Registrations w
 ill be accepted at the door, but may not include the hot lunch.Â  Regi
