The 2nd Annual Canadian Farm and Food Biogas Conference and Exhibition follows on the success of the inaugural conference held in March, 2009.

Interest in biogas production, in the farm and food sectors, continues to grow. The Canadian Farm and Food Biogas Conference will provide the opportunity to present and discuss exciting research, technologies, projects and programs that are part of this new frontier.

USDA Announces Approval of D-SNAP for Virginia Disaster Areas

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that people recovering from Tropical Storm Helene may be eligible for food assistance through USDA’s Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP). Approximately 22,858 households in nine counties are estimated to be eligible for this relief to help with grocery expenses.

Research across the Midwest has shown that early-planted soybean have greater yield potential compared to those planted later. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Risk Management Agency in 2023 worked with Science for Success Soybean Specialists across the country and shifted the earliest soybean-planting date in states where data was available.
