Event Description

This “Horse Health Night” is jointly sponsored by Grey Ag Services and Markdale Veterinary Services.  Dr. Tee Fox will review Basic Equine First Aid and help us determine what items should be kept on hand for emergencies. Don’t miss this night!!  Come network with other like-minded individuals for a highly entertaining evening.

USDA Announces Approval of D-SNAP for Virginia Disaster Areas

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that people recovering from Tropical Storm Helene may be eligible for food assistance through USDA’s Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP). Approximately 22,858 households in nine counties are estimated to be eligible for this relief to help with grocery expenses.

Research across the Midwest has shown that early-planted soybean have greater yield potential compared to those planted later. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Risk Management Agency in 2023 worked with Science for Success Soybean Specialists across the country and shifted the earliest soybean-planting date in states where data was available.
