10 am – Tour of Trials

Variety trial including Liberty Link Invigor and Roundup Ready Pioneer varieties
Swede Midge Control Treatment Trial demonstrating Matador and Coragen insecticide treatments at 3 stages of plant growth
Seeding Rate Trial – 3, 5 and 7 lbs/ac
Sulphur Rate Trial – 0,10, 20 and 40 lbs/ac
Fungicide Trial – Vertisan, Astound, Proline

Noon – Lunch

1 pm – Combine header demo - modified and draper Speaker

USDA Announces Approval of D-SNAP for Virginia Disaster Areas

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that people recovering from Tropical Storm Helene may be eligible for food assistance through USDA’s Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP). Approximately 22,858 households in nine counties are estimated to be eligible for this relief to help with grocery expenses.
