Event Description

The Ottawa Valley Farm Show is Ontario's longest running agricultural trade show. From the beginning, it has been organized by farmers for farmers on a non-profit basis.

The 87th edition of the Ottawa Valley Farm Show (OVFS) is gearing up. More than 350 exhibitors will be on hand at the Ernst & Young Centre offering a wide range of farm machinery, equipment and services.

Thanks to all who helped to make the 2013 Ottawa Valley Farm Show such a great success.

USDA Announces Approval of D-SNAP for Virginia Disaster Areas

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that people recovering from Tropical Storm Helene may be eligible for food assistance through USDA’s Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP). Approximately 22,858 households in nine counties are estimated to be eligible for this relief to help with grocery expenses.

Cool Bean: Consider planting earlier

Research across the Midwest has shown that early-planted soybean have greater yield potential compared to those planted later. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Risk Management Agency in 2023 worked with Science for Success Soybean Specialists across the country and shifted the earliest soybean-planting date in states where data was available.
