Event Description

Since its inception in November 1922, The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair has become the world’s largest indoor agricultural and international equestrian competition.

The Royal draws more than 300,000 visitors to Toronto annually to see thousands of unique entries from elite Canadian and International breeders, growers and exhibitors, over 4,500 large and small animals, shows, activities, shopping, dining and – of course – The Royal Horse Show.

USDA Announces Approval of D-SNAP for Virginia Disaster Areas

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that people recovering from Tropical Storm Helene may be eligible for food assistance through USDA’s Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP). Approximately 22,858 households in nine counties are estimated to be eligible for this relief to help with grocery expenses.

Cool Bean: Consider planting earlier

Research across the Midwest has shown that early-planted soybean have greater yield potential compared to those planted later. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Risk Management Agency in 2023 worked with Science for Success Soybean Specialists across the country and shifted the earliest soybean-planting date in states where data was available.
