Event Description

District 1 of the Ontario Processing Vegetable Growers and OMAFRA present the 37th Annual Tomato Day.  This day of educational sessions and a trade show, focussed on processing tomatoes, will be held on Tuesday, March 5 at the Roma Club, 19 Seacliff Drive East in Leamington, Ontario.

Admission is $25 which includes the educational program, trade show, and a hot lunch. No preregistration required.  CCA Continuing Education Credits have been applied for.

USDA Announces Approval of D-SNAP for Virginia Disaster Areas

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that people recovering from Tropical Storm Helene may be eligible for food assistance through USDA’s Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP). Approximately 22,858 households in nine counties are estimated to be eligible for this relief to help with grocery expenses.
