Ontario Agriculture

The network for agriculture in Ontario, Canada

Hello

My name is Charles and I am a mature, responsible and ethical bow hunter looking for new hunting opportunities in and around the Erin area.

Having grown up in Northern Ontario, I enjoyed and was exposed to many outdoor activities that have contributed to my love of nature and the opportunities and lessons learned by spending time in the great outdoors.  My father was a trapper and he instilled in me a respect for the environment and it's game.  Those ethics I still carry with me to this day.

I am looking for access to some farmland in the Erin/Halton to spring/fall hunt turkey and also fall hunt deer.  I mostly hunt by myself but will occasionally also bring a friend (if the landowner agrees).

I would be most graceful for the opportunity to bow hunt near my home town.  If you have access to farmland, need some help thinning out the deer and turkey population and are willing to help me out, I would be forever grateful.  I am licensed, always hunt legally, eat what I harvest (the 4 kids help me with that too lol) and can adapt to any special requirements you may have.

Kind regards,

Charles

Alberta couple signs second agreement with NCC to preserve Prairie Grasslands

A significant block of native Prairie Grasslands in the southern-most point of Alberta is now being conserved. Boundary Creek couple Colleen and Dale Adams have signed an agreement with the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC). It means their 128 hectare (315 acre) cattle ranch will remain a working landscape while spared from any future subdivision, drainage or cultivation. With a lot of competition for land in the area, the family wanted to ensure this cattle grazing site and haven for wildlife remains unspoiled. They hope their decision will encourage other landowners to preserve their land in partnership with organizations like NCC to ensure the land will always be available for wildlife and sustainable ranching. “Working on the lands is the only thing I know!" exclaimed Dale. "There are a lot of recreational pressures on lands in this area. At this rate, there won’t be many of the wild grasslands left so it makes us feel real good knowing that it will stay a ranch forever. Havi
