Ontario Agriculture

The network for agriculture in Ontario, Canada

Hello,

My dad just recently decided to retire from dairy farming due to health concerns and his age (63), but he's having a difficult time.  Are there any resources or websites that help support farmers adjusting to retirment?  Both the logistics of selling the farm and the thought of "what to do next?", are very overwhelming for him right now, and I was just wondering what kind of support is available.

Hi Tina,

Kevin Stewart has looked at the retirement and succession issue on AgVisionTV.
Here is a video that he might find valuable....he is not alone, this is a difficult stage of life for everyone.
Take care and good luck,
Joe Dales
