Improving Hemp Yields To Increase Proftability For Farmers

Today, Protein Industries Canada announced a new project with Verve Seed Solutions, Farmer’s Business Network Canada (FBN) and Fresh Hemp Foods (FHF) with the goal of increasing yield per acre, and bringing high quality and low-cost hemp protein to the market. Canada’s Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Beef Cattle to be updated

The National Farm Animal Care Council (NFACC) is pleased to announce that Canadian Cattle Association has initiated an update to the Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Beef Cattle. The update wille guided by NFACC’s Code development process. The Code development process includes a survey, launched at the outset of each Code, to capture top-of-mind welfare concerns from any and all stakeholders. The input received will help the Code Committee understand the kinds of issues people wish to see considered in the update. CCGA Issues over 1,400 Cash Advances on First Day of 2024 APP

Today, Canadian Canola Growers Association (CCGA) issued the first cash advances for the 2024 Advance Payments Program (APP), putting over $225 million of working capital financing into over 1,400 farming operations spanning Western Canada. “We started accepting applications for 2024 cash advances in February, and since then our team has been focused on improving our responsiveness so farmers can take maximum advantage of the benefits a cash advance offers them," says Dave Gallant, Vice-President, Finance & APP Operations at CCGA. “We're excited to get the 2024 program underway and look forward to many months of serving the cash flow needs of Western Canadian farmers." CCGA has four decades of experience providing cash advances to farmers across Western Canada. Through CCGA, farmers can access advances on over 50 commodities including crops, livestock, organic commodities, and honey. Dealer Opinions Vary on Potential Impact of Autonomy in Next 3 Years

A good number of dealers plan to invest in autonomy over the next 2 years, according to the 11th annual Precision Farming Dealer Benchmark Study. 30% said they’re very likely to invest in autonomy and 39% said they’re somewhat likely. 17% said it’s somewhat unlikely they’ll invest in autonomy and 13% said it’s very unlikely.
