Canarm AgSystems is consolidating Shakespeare operations (Faromor – A Canarm Company) into our Arthur facility and transferring agricultural fan production to our Brockville location. Faromor- A Canarm Company is a leading manufacturer of natural ventilation with a history dating back to 1978. Today, Faromor has become an icon for natural ventilation systems worldwide, by strongly promoting and emphasizing product development, improvement and continually adding to their product offering. To date, this has all been done from the Shakespeare, Ontario facility.

CannabisWiki is proud to bring a cannabis show to Middlesex-London, Ontario - the agricultural hub for Southwestern Ontario. The twoday event?will showcase cannabis industry innovations in the region, across the country and help to bring awareness about London and Middlesex as a world-leader in agriculture, agribusiness, and plant derived medicines. The goal of the show is to foster regional and national B2B networking opportunities and to bolster Middlesex-London’s reputation as a diversified agricultural hub.?

GMO crops and glyphosate use can offer carbon sequestration benefits, Canadian study suggests

University of Saskatchewan research has concluded that genetically modified canola and the use of glyphosate have increased carbon sequestration in the soil and reduced CO2 emissions from Canadian farmland. “There is a complementary relationship between the adoption of herbicide-tolerant (HT) canola and conservation tillage, resulting in corresponding changes in GHG emissions,” says a paper published in the journal Sustainability in October. “Saskatchewan farmers have confirmed just how crucial the use of glyphosate is with the complementary technology of HT crops… (to) maintain sustainable land management practices.”

Government-Industry potato working group assembles to help affected farmers in Prince Edward Island

The Government of Canada is working with the Province of Prince Edward Island (PEI) and industry to support PEI farmers following the recent suspension of certification of fresh potatoes from PEI to the United States. The newly formed Government-Industry Potato Working Group met on Wednesday, November 24 for initial discussions.
