The Ontario Forage Council, in conjunction with the Dufferin and Northumberland County Soil and Crop Improvement Associations,invite you to participate Forage Expo 2018! 

Dufferin County will host the western location on Thursday, July 5th at Brakke Farm Inc, in Grand Valley, and Northumberlad Countywill host the eastern location at Loval Farms, on July 10th in Warkwoth.

USDA Announces Approval of D-SNAP for Virginia Disaster Areas

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that people recovering from Tropical Storm Helene may be eligible for food assistance through USDA’s Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP). Approximately 22,858 households in nine counties are estimated to be eligible for this relief to help with grocery expenses.

Cool Bean: Consider planting earlier

Research across the Midwest has shown that early-planted soybean have greater yield potential compared to those planted later. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Risk Management Agency in 2023 worked with Science for Success Soybean Specialists across the country and shifted the earliest soybean-planting date in states where data was available.
