Event Description

Ontario Pork is hosting a PED information session at Pork Congress in the Mansbridge Room from 11:00am-12:00pm on both Wednesday, June 18 & Thursday, June 19, 2014.

The on-farm and economic implications of this virus will be discussed. Speakers will include veterinarians, economists and representatives from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Ontario Pork.

USDA Announces Approval of D-SNAP for Virginia Disaster Areas

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that people recovering from Tropical Storm Helene may be eligible for food assistance through USDA’s Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP). Approximately 22,858 households in nine counties are estimated to be eligible for this relief to help with grocery expenses.
