About Steam-Era

Steam Era's goal is to advance knowledge,.appreciation, and interest in rural antiques and our rural agricultural heritage. This is accomplished through the preservation, restoration and renovation of articles, vehicles, machinery and power equipment of antiquity.

Steam-Era : is the annual show held by the Ontario Steam and Antique Preservers Association each year. At the Labour Day weekend show our members exhibit and demonstrate their equipment, models, cars and trucks, along with craft and other displays for the public

USDA Announces Approval of D-SNAP for Virginia Disaster Areas

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that people recovering from Tropical Storm Helene may be eligible for food assistance through USDA’s Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP). Approximately 22,858 households in nine counties are estimated to be eligible for this relief to help with grocery expenses.

Cool Bean: Consider planting earlier

Research across the Midwest has shown that early-planted soybean have greater yield potential compared to those planted later. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Risk Management Agency in 2023 worked with Science for Success Soybean Specialists across the country and shifted the earliest soybean-planting date in states where data was available.
