Goals:
 To invest in leadership and business skills specifically for women in rural, agriculture
and agri-food business sectors.
 To encourage/foster women in agri-business leadership roles.
 To provide an opportunity for women to network with others in the industry.

Who should attend:
Canadian women involved in:
 agricultural businesses from farm through to retail;
 agricultural leadership roles either within an association/company/agency or on Boards and
Committees

And, men may attend too!

Cost: $226.00 ($200 plus $26.00 HST) per person after September 10, 2010

USDA Announces Approval of D-SNAP for Virginia Disaster Areas

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that people recovering from Tropical Storm Helene may be eligible for food assistance through USDA’s Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP). Approximately 22,858 households in nine counties are estimated to be eligible for this relief to help with grocery expenses.

Research across the Midwest has shown that early-planted soybean have greater yield potential compared to those planted later. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Risk Management Agency in 2023 worked with Science for Success Soybean Specialists across the country and shifted the earliest soybean-planting date in states where data was available.
