Facilitator: Hugh Simpson, Commercial Beekeeper

Hugh Simpson is a commercial beekeeper with beehives across Grey County. Last year he shared a “top ten list” for new Beekeepers and will follow this year with some insights about what keeps the beekeeper and his bees bzzzy at different times of year. There’ll be presentation of ideas and tips on spring build up, summer maintenance and fall harvest, prepping for winter. USDA Announces Approval of D-SNAP for Virginia Disaster Areas

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that people recovering from Tropical Storm Helene may be eligible for food assistance through USDA’s Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP). Approximately 22,858 households in nine counties are estimated to be eligible for this relief to help with grocery expenses.
