Grey Bruce Farmers’ Week (#GBFW17), in its 51st year, will run from Wednesday, January 4th to Tuesday, January 10th, starting with Beef Day, and ending on Crops Day. It is a 7 day Agricultural Conference packed with a most impressive and informative line-up of speakers! The coordinators for this event, Grey County Ag Services, in conjunction with agricultural commodity leaders from Grey and Bruce Counties, have attempted to feature at least one high profile speaker for each day, targeting the issues and challenges facing the farming community today.
Here’s a glimpse of some of the featured keynote speakers and presentations:
Crops Day will be exciting, so come early to get a chair. First we will get an update on MPAC and Farm Assessments. Greg Peterson, Peterson Brothers, Kansas U.S.A., known by many because of his Social Media presence, will share the importance of Advocating for Agriculture. Moe Agostino, Chief Commodity Strategist, Farms.com Risk Management, will provide a forecast of 2017 Grain & Basis Outlook and Opportunities. Perennial favourite, Peter Johnson, Agronomist with RealAgriculture returns to divulge his secrets about How to Make $$ in 2017.
On Crops Day, two producers will highlight their Great Lakes Agricultural Stewardship Initiative Projects.
