Event Description

This workshop will help you to understand, develop, and implement better hog marketing practices. Learn about the basic market concepts, tools, and information sources needed to develop your own hog marketing plan.

You will learn about:

  • Market fundamentals
  • Ontario base formula price impacts
  • The importance of your cost of production
  • The basics of forward contracting and hedging with the futures
  • Advantages / Disadvantages of the marketing tools
  • Key features of a hog marketing plan
